Billy Bob Thornton will also star in the movie, which will be directed by Harold Ramis. Filming of the thriller - which is set in a snowbound town on Christmas Eve - is due to begin in Cusack's hometown of Chicago in April. She will sing classical numbers in Latin and Sanskrit. "I could think of no one but Tina Turner to play this part," said Ismail Merchant who will direct The Goddess."Her energy, her voice, her dancing - she's mesmerising," the 66-year-old New York-based filmmaker said.Turner, 64, who retired about four years ago, will portray the goddess Shakti. Shakti is the goddess of power who takes on the form of destroyer or creator. She is known by different names in different parts of the country, including Kali and Durga.The film will trace the friendship among three Indian friends and focus on an American painter, played by Matthew Modine, obsessed with the Indian goddess.In an effort to get to the soul of the role, Turner watched Hindu religious rituals in the ancient temple town of Varanasi last week.The singer has acted in Hollywood films such as Last Action Hero, and Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome."Her visit to the temples was an intense spiritual experience," said the director.Turner has been learning Indian classical music and Hindi to prepare for the film, which is expected to be completed early next year, reports ITV.com. 02/22/04 Pamela Anderson Considers Celibacy From Ananova.com Pamela Anderson says she is considering not dating anyone for the next 12 years. Fatih Akin, who won the Golden Bear prize Saturday for his film Head-On, told Wednesday's issue of the daily Tagesspiegel newspaper that he and actress Sibel Kekilli had agreed to keep her history in pornography under wraps. "Sibel and I naively hoped that it would never come out," he said, blasting the coverage of the scandal in the tabloid press as "bigotted and disgusting". Akin said he had not seen any of Kekilli's pornographic films. "I did not want to watch them so I could direct Head-On freely," he said. The mass-market Bild had splashed a nude outtakes from Kekilli's sex films on its front page Monday with the headline "German film diva in reality porno-star". Berlin film festival director Dieter Kosslick told Berlin's Radio Eins that he fully supported the 23-year-old Kekilli. "We are all standing behind her," he said. Kosslick said he had been unaware of her previous roles when he selected Head-On for the competition. "But I have nothing to say on the issue morally," he said.
